If you love to shop, eat at great restaurants, or enjoy exciting nightlife destinations, you don’t have to look any further than St. Armand’s Circle. Located on the beautiful island of Lido Key, the “Circle” features numerous galleries, shops, boutiques and restaurants as well as The Circus Ring of Fame.
History of St Armands Circle
The brainchild of the circus world’s John Ringling, the development of St. Armand’s Circle began in the 1920s. Ringling began purchasing a group of islands located off of Sarasota in the hopes of developing a major tourist attraction. His goal was to create a world-class destination with the finest hotels, elegant restaurants and high-end shopping. Although Ringling didn’t live to see the project completed, his dream was eventually developed into what is now known today as St. Armand’s Circle.
Beautiful Beaches, Shopping & Dining
In addition to being home to a number of world-class restaurants and over 130 retail establishments, St. Armand’s Circle also boasts beautiful beaches as well as stunning architecture. The beaches, which are open year-round and staffed by lifeguards, offer ample opportunities for recreation. This is a great place to enjoy a day outdoors!
Not only is St. Armand’s Circle a great place to go for top notch dining and shopping opportunities, but it is also home to The Circus Ring of Fame, which is a “sidewalk of circus stars.” Located in the center of the circle, The Circus Ring of Fame extends around Central Park. Started in 1987 in an effort to honor world famous circus performers, the Ring of Fame now contains plaques honoring more than 80 circus greats from around the world.
Real Estate Opportunities
Considering all that St. Armand’s Circle has to offer, it should come as no surprise to learn that many people are interested in learning more about real estate opportunities in the surrounding neighborhoods. Although residential real estate options within the circle are limited, there are both homes and condos available in the area surrounding neighborhood.
St Armands is a charming neighborhood of eclectic architectural styles that surround the world-famous shopping district. Real estate options include a diverse selection of homes and condominiums. Magnificent gated mansions featuring creative architectural elements have replaced many of the “old Florida” style homes, although there are still a few opportunities to find and renovate an old jewel.
On the palm tree lined streets such as Washington Drive, gated luxury homes provide outstanding views of Sarasota Bay and the downtown skyline. These homes feature exquisite detailing and custom design work expected by luxury real estate buyers. You’ll find outdoor kitchens, state of the art electrical systems, theater rooms and resort style swimming pools and spas in many of these luxurious homes.
